Duval County says all sciences – not just biology – are for all students

In Duval County, they believe all areas of science – and not just biology – are for all students.  Take a look at this article from the Florida Times Union.  Duval is one of the four Super Science Counties in Florida that have adopted high school graduation requirements in science that exceed the state’s minimum.

By the way, the other three of the Super Science Counties in Florida are Brevard, Monroe and Polk County.

In fact, you might check out the response of a Monroe County School Board member to the science graduation requirement discussion by Leon County’s SAIL High School Principal here.  The SAIL Principal, in defending the remarks of Leon High School Principal Rocky Hanna, raised concerns about the effect of increasing science requirements on graduation rates.
