Orlando Sentinel: New teacher evaluation system doesn’t change much

First, read Leslie Postal’s excellent article on Florida’s new (since 2011) teacher evaluation system in the Sentinel.

Then, look at the graph below.  It demonstrates that the designation of teachers as “highly effective” (which makes them eligible for Best and Brightest Teacher Scholarship awards of nearly $10,000) varies arbitrarily from district to district.

Yes, there is work to do on the state’s teacher evaluation system.
