AP Calc, Bio, Chem, Physics and Statistics growing in Florida since 2008

The numbers of students taking and passing AP courses in the subjects that prepare students for science and engineering careers – Calculus, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Statistics – aren’t nearly as high as they should be.  But they are growing, in some subjects modestly and in others more dramatically.

The graphs below plot the percentages of Florida’s high school students who took and passed these AP exams since the 2008-2009 school year.  Exam information comes from the College Board, and the student population figures come from the Florida Department of Education.
