Education Week reporter: California Board of Education will not vote on NGSS this week

The California Board of Education is meeting on Wednesday, and the NGSS are on the agenda.  But Education Week reporter Erik Robelen has tweeted that the Board will not vote on adoption until later this year.

California is one of the 26 lead state partners on the NGSS project.  The state’s Superintendent of Public Instruction, Tom Torlakson, announced recently that he will recommend adoption to the state board.

The standards being considered by the state board are actually a version of the NGSS modified by California officials.
