Are physicists smart enough to do 4th grade math?

From a colleague:

After your talk today, I came home to my 4th grade daughter’s worksheet homework that included the following:

How many seven-digit numbers less than 1,048,000 can be made using the digits 0, 1, 4, 6, 7, 8 and 9?

Admittedly, it was an example and they gave a hint and the answer. But then they proceeded to give homework problems that were completely unrelated. Who puts together these worksheets?

I would love to put this question on our graduate qualifying exam.
