Florida Education Commissioner resigns; State Board chair blames FSU law school

To the news that Commissioner Gerard Robinson resigned suddenly yesterday, add this from Leslie Postal at the Orlando Sentinel blog School Zone:

Robinson is leaving because his wife — a tenured law school professor in Virginia — was not able to get a comparable job at FSU’s law school, said Kathleen Shanahan, chairman of the State Board of Education, which hired Robinson last year.

Robinson’s wife, Kimberly Robinson, is a Professor at the University of Richmond School of Law.  She specializes in education law.  The Robinsons have two young children.
