SB 1366 proposes limiting university general education requirements to 30 credit hours (instead of the present 36): Is this good or bad?

In addition to limiting general education requirements to 30 credit hours, SB 1366 would move some of the authority for setting general education requirements away from the faculty senates at the individual institutions to statewide faculty committees.

SB 1366 gets a hearing at the Senate’s higher ed budget subcommittee on Tuesday.
