Funding new teaching facilites: PECO on the legislative radar screen, the Miami Herald reports

PECO is the state utilities tax revenue stream that funds educational facilities, and with the decline in the use of landline phones and other outdated technologies it has almost completely dried up.  The result is that plans for the badly needed STEM teaching facilities at universities and elsewhere are grounded.

But the Miami Herald brings a hint of good news on this front.  Legislative leaders have recognized the importance of funding facilities construction, and may be ready to move on the issue next year.
