NAEP: Florida falls further behind nation in 8th grade math

The % of 8th graders rated “proficient” or better in math is a reasonable first approximation of how many students are on track for science and engineering careers.

So today’s release of the 2011 NAEP results included some disturbing news:  Florida is falling further behind the nation in % of 8th graders rated proficient or better in math.
