St. Pete Times business columnist Robert Trigaux is frustrated…about STEM education

And he’s not alone.

In this morning’s column, Trigaux quotes the co-founder of the biofuels company Algenol, Paul Woods:  “I can tell you the state of Florida is not even close to mediocre…I think we have to stop being defensive and take a hard look.”

Why?

Trigaux has a list:

…bureaucracy. Inertia. Old thinking. Naysayers. Cynics. Misplaced pride. Lack of funding. Lack of imagination. An absence of leadership. And, to be sure, a profound lack of will.

Trigaux then describes his visit to the Academy of Engineering at East Lake High in Pinellas County, which he praises.

Take a look.
