Intel CEO Otellini: “There is a a generic impression that all engineering jobs in this country have been outsourced…the opposite is true”

More from a report on last week’s forum on engineering education from The Oregonian:

Engineering deans from around the country filled out a nine-member panel at the forum, speaking before a room full of Oregon business and civic leaders. The administration sent Energy Secretary Steven Chu to pitch the administration’s jobs message: The U.S. needs to out-innovate other countries to retain its economic advantage.

“We can’t take the leadership in any technology for granted,” said Chu, a Nobel Prize winner. “We need engineers. We need scientists.”
