Google chief: UK must change culture to support science education and technology

From The Independent:

The executive chairman of Google has lambasted Britain as a society that favours “luvvies” over “boffins” and warned that unless it takes action to support science in education and business “the UK will continue to be where inventions are born – but not bred for long-term success”.

The Confederation of British Industry recently called for strong secondary students to be automatically enrolled in biology, chemistry and physics classes as a way of increasing the number of engineers and scientists educated in UK schools.
