Lakeland Ledger: Both candidates for Governor support increases in higher ed funding

The Lakeland  Ledger reports today that both candidates for Governor support increased funding for higher education:

Both candidates say they support increasing the level of state funding for colleges and universities. Sink said recently in an interview, “We need to reinvest in higher education. It’s been starved out going back 10 years.” Scott has endorsed the New Florida Initiative proposed by the State University System, which calls for $1.75 billion in state money over five to seven years. “It’s probably the only place we advocate for new funds,” said Donna Arduin, a Scott adviser, in an interview.
