Petition drive attacks school administration at Tallahassee’s Lincoln High School

Only a few short years ago, Tallahassee’s Lincoln High School was the best place in Leon County to learn science.

Then, science teachers began to flee the changes put in place by the school’s new principal, Allen Burch.

Now an online petition, LincolnNeedsYou.com, aims to “Tell Superintendent Pons and the Leon County School Board that we need an Administration that puts Lincoln’s students first.”

On Friday, Leon County Schools reported that Lincoln had the district’s largest improvement in scores on the reading FCAT.  This will probably provide little consolation to those pushing the petition drive.
