Algebra I EOC: Full Senate will vote on HB 7087 tomorrow

The full Senate just replaced SB 1996 with HB 7087.  It now looks like the high school students who took Algebra 1 in middle school are safe from the inaugural EOC.  The Senate will vote on HB 7087 tomorrow and the bill will head to the Governor’s desk for signature.

The key was the withdrawal of HB 7087 from the assignments to the Senate PreK-12 and Budget Committees – at 10:37 am.  The bill was placed on Third Reading at 10:40 am.

In addition, Senator Simmons’ standalone bill on class size changes (SB 1466) – lifting class size limits on Precalculus and AP courses, among others – advanced to 3rd reading.

So my son is safe from the Algebra I EOC.  But not from a 50 student Precalculus class.
