Raise AP pass score to 4?
If Senator Lynn’s SB 1732 passes in its present form, the FL Department of Education will study the possibility of a score of 4 being required on an AP exam to get college credit at the state’s higher education institutions.

I know for a fact that our math people are looking very hard at students with a 3 in AP calculus. We are getting a lot more AP students here, and the results in calc 2 have apparently not been pretty.
Maybe they need a sliding scale when considering classes that are part of a sequence.
I was struck by this comment from the article, from an AP Government teacher: “A kid in my class that gets a 3 on that test, I think, in layman’s terms, would blow the doors off any Government 101 class” at a state university, he said.
From what I have seen, anyone who was paying attention in the basic government class I had in junior high would have a similar performance in POS1041. You can’t compare that to calculus.
